At FiveLeaves3D, we’re always refining our setup to keep quality high and turnaround times low. Recently, we brought two new printers into the workshop: the Bambu Lab A1 Mini and Bambu Lab P1S. Both are now handling a lot of the work behind the scenes, so this post gives a quick overview of what they offer, why we chose them, and what that means for you.
Why we upgraded
We’ve used a range of machines over the years—some custom, some modded, some straight out of the box—but as demand has grown, we needed something faster and more reliable with less babysitting. The A1 Mini and P1S stood out for their speed, consistency, and automation. They're workhorses, and that helps us stay focused on design and quality, not troubleshooting.
The A1 Mini: Small but sharp
This one’s been brilliant for smaller accessories. It has a compact footprint but punches above its weight. It’s fast, quiet, and has excellent out-of-the-box calibration features. Ideal for those more detailed or lightweight prints that don’t need a huge build plate.
The P1S: Consistency at scale
The P1S is built for volume and speed. It’s perfect for larger orders or batch runs where we need everything to look identical and stay on schedule. It handles higher temperatures, prints a wide range of materials (like PETG and ASA), and rarely needs tinkering. We can send a job, walk away, and come back to a stack of clean prints—exactly what you want when time matters.
What does this mean for our customers?
Faster machines mean faster dispatch times. Better reliability means fewer failed prints and more consistent finishes. The A1 Mini has opened the door to more detailed pieces with sharper layers, while the P1S has become the go-to for bulk orders and strong, functional parts.
We’re always testing new setups, but these two have earned their place in the lineup.
